What is the best option in Youth soccer? Best coach or Better players?

My son is a premier soccer player U 14 and has been offered a spot on a premier team, One option is playing w/ a really great coach and mediocre players (where my son is the top player or playing w/a premier team w/ great players but a so-so coach where my son will be in the middle of the pack.

Which option will make him expand as a player--the best coach or [playing w/better players? Thanks

playing with better players hands down. A good coach is nice, but he is not playing with you. He is merely giving instructions. Your son will practice with these boys alot and it will raise his playing level. Also, if the coach was hired by a premiere club, then he must have something good to offer.

If you realistically think that your son is scholarship material in the future and if he is interested in playing at thecollegelevel you might consider him being on the premier team. Soccer scholarships for male players tend to be on the smaller side due to things like Title 9, but there are some opportunities. On the premier team, will he need to change positions? For instance is he a forward on his rec team who will be switched to defense on the premier team? That is worth trying to figure out. If your son is playing more for enjoyment, staying with his present team seems to make more sense. He could wind up getting burned out playing on a premier team then lose interest playing entirely. For potential life long playing for enjoyment and recreation, he may get more from staying rec.
Soccer is better let him be a good soccer player later he can be a coach coz player is more important he will have more name and even money.

I really den understand wut u mean but i am trying to answer u r Q.
Playing with better players. And typically premier coaches know what they are doing. They may not seem as nice or do what they do in harsher ways, but they usually are better than regular coaches. Also your son playing with better players with make him want to get better so he can stand out and play more

What's the best way to explain the offside rule in soccer to kids?

Know where the ball is ,then you'll know where you should be or not...

What's the best way to explain the offside rule in soccer to kids?nba players

if they are like 5 years old, then dont even bother. they dont care about the technicalities, they just wanna play. but, once they start to get older, you're going to have to start to enforce the offside rule, and always be consistent and tell them to watch out for their position, so then they can gradually become more and more familiar with it and at the same time, becoming more and more aware and careful of their position on the field.

What's the best way to explain the offside rule in soccer to kids?nba draft prospects ,nba teams

dont get in front of the deffence stay cool and be ready to score
Set up your defenders in a line and then line up one of your forwards in that same line and keep the ball behind the forward then show him that right now he is on side then ask the forward to go behind the defenders and tell him that he is now offside do this with all the fowards this way they get an idea of what offside is
If you are inbetween the defender and their goal when the ball is passed to you, you are off side. If the ball is passed to you when you are infront of teh defender and you either make a run or pass the ball towards goal you are on side.
show them iht step by step tht how a got told abt iht let them have fun let me know how u get on ok
oh god... *lol* i'd say use models, a large piece of cardboard for the pitch and game tokens in different colours for the players of each team. they probably won't all get it, in my experience understanding the offside rule is genetic, you either do at the first attempt or never. ;-)
is to see it themselves.. and so explain it to them

How do people sit through a soccer game?

the womens game is good....but the endless flopping and whining is unbelievable. if these athletes/actors spent more time actually playing and making an effort, maybe the sport would deserve some respect......oh, and if you think im bashing soccer because im American, dont bother. we have michael vick and barry bonds......i wont even try to defend those turds.

soccer is the best.

Just work on your attention span. Soccer is just two continuous 45 minute periods, and periods in American sports are considerably shorter. Besides, there's so much more in soccer than goals. You just need to learn to appreciate that. I do have to agree, these drama queens in the men's game should be banned for life.
It spassion. This sport has been played for decades and decades. Its a custom for European countries, and the latin americas. and for what somebody said about the alcohol, no people dont get drunk cuz they are bored and so they fight. They fight because they love the game so much that it over powers them and they loose control when the team that generations and generations of a family have followed, dont perform at their fullest. All the acting and whining is just part of the sport, its what makes it so emotional and envolving. its what makes it so great. You cant tell me that running back and forth for 2 hours with a sprint pace is stamina you cant admire. The condition of these people, their tactics and grace that players like messi have. That has to be something to admire. I think that when people start to realize this the game will become more popular.
hey corinthian,

how do i explain it to you if you dont allow emails.....dope.

the sport of soccer is perfection in its purest form. but pros spend more time on the turf pretending to be hurt, than any sport on the planet. 99% of them are up and playing again after the yellow card has been issued. golf is boring as hell, and nobody complains because its a given. nascar....same thing.....

soccer is popular worldwide, so somehow human beings enjoy watching "athletes" pretend to be hurt.....i dont get it
dont watch it on t.v., its like hockey, boring as hell on t.v (except the world cup)

Soccer live is awesome, alot more stuff goes on in the crowd and following the ball is cool.

Not all americans hate futbol my friend.
If you don't like it, don't watch it. Nobody's going to care, and nobody's going to miss you.
probably by downing loads of alcohol. isn't that how they do it in Europe? If MLS wants to attract more interest in its game, they need to sell more alcohol. Thats the only thing that'll make guys running around in the grass seem interesting.

Thats why you always see fans fighting at soccer games in Europe. They are so bored they have to entertain themselves.
well its easy . . . u just sit and stay seated, say to urself i can do it!!!! lol jk
is this all you do. is be negative about every question you post?
reminds me of the episode in the simpsons when Homer gives up alcohol. everyone is downing the beers at a baseball game and homer is like "i never realised how boring this game was"

a good chunk of the world's population doesn't seem to have trouble sitting through a game of soccer and alot of them couldn't watch whatever sport you like.it's about as hard for non US person to get into the NFL and superbowl. ive tried watching it but i cant cos i'm not familiar with the culture that surrounds the sport.

today australia has it's biggest game of the year in a sport called Australian Rules football. now that is somethin i can watch because i'm constantly surrounded by it even though i am not a fan.

it's akin to films . if you have no interest in it you aren't not likely to watch the whole thing compared to someone who loves the subject matter
How do people sit through a soccer games? quite well, thank you.

Now if you could help me understand why so many alleged sports fans can like and appreciate a variety of sports (football to hockey to baseball to golf, etc), yet when it comes to soccer the mood turns sour and almost violently antagonistic. I mean, some folks don't like golf, but you never hear them screaming and carrying on about how horrible it is. The same with other sports - but when it comes to soccer, let the vile diarrhea-of-the-mouth begin.

I don't want to hear the lame excuse that there is not enough scoring (baseball and/or hockey have long been low scoring affairs). I don't want to hear that it is boring/not enough action (give me a break . . . baseball in nearly unwatchable with all the delays, and football is five seconds of action followed by a minute of standing around). Don't get me wrong - I am a sports fan, and can appreciate most sports (I have a tough time with those that are based on judging - skating, gymnastics, etc.).

What is it about soccer that creates such animosity? Is it the jingoistic view that since it wasn't "invented" in the USA, it is inherently evil? Is it that xenophobic fear that since the USA is not the "top dog" that we can't or won't appreciate it? Is it the fact that it is an easy target because it appears 'everyone' hates it and you're just "stupid" to even like something that the masses (which quite often are asses) frown upon? Is it because folks can get a quick laugh if they make fun of it?

Seriously, help me understand what the issue is? I've heard you rant on about how soccer sucks, and would like to understand why. No, you won't change my opinion, because I enjoy soccer. I would just like to understand the hatred.
Haha i love it when Americans ask that.

Over here people get really drunk during games and just fight at the end with opposing fans, whilst hurling abuse at the referee during the game.

They don't really remember the game just how many police officers it took to arrest them (i have seen this first hand haha)

That is why America doesn't get football (soccer) because they're the only country that watch it sober besides Brazil!

Stick to watching your version of football, it's a lot better (I'd get stabbed for saying that out loud over here)

Peace...

How do you kick a soccer ball so it spins into the goal like ronaldo did once?nba teams ,nba teams

kick the bottom of the ball, not the centre bottom but right a bit of the bottom. u get me?
Kick at the bottom to the ball, kind of to one side.

And if you can pull off the Roberto Carlos goal v France, I will be amazed.
To do a banana kick, you use the instep of your foot and hit one edge. By hitting one side, you will put spin on the ball. To get it up in the air also, hit the lower edge of the ball farthest away from your plant foot. To get spin on the ground, hit the ball in the middle (vertically), but still on the rigth or left side. If you are right footed, the ball will spin counterclockwise, if you are left footed, it will spin clockwise.
I don't know how to spin the ball, but you can some Jerseys on sale at worldsoccershop.com I was on there the other day to get something and looked in sales, you can get replicas of clubs like Juve, Barca, arsenal, and international teams from 20-50 dollars you just gotta look though some crap but you'll find some good stuff cheap they also sell equipment there too.
